My name is Robyn, and I am a third year surface pattern and textile student who loves creating prints for fashion and lifestyle. I am passionate about designing unique and bold prints inspired by my experiences and travels. Get to know me more below!
A bit about me...
I have always had a love for creating, whether it be detailed paintings and drawings, textile heavy fashion garments, or even experimenting with ceramics and clay. I never knew which avenue of design I should follow, so after my A-Levels I decided to start on my colleges UAL Foundation diploma course. It wasn't until I began my foundation course at Exeter College, that I realised I much preferred the idea of designing and creating the fabrics for fashion, instead of actually constructing the garments. After discovering this I wanted to learn more about the world of surface pattern design, and applied to University of Wales Trinity Saint David at Swansea College of Art, for the following September. Since then I have fully thrived, learning an abundance of techniques, processes, pattern methods and really finding my style as a designer.
I have been very lucky to have been noticed and congratulated on a lot of the work I have produced over my years studying at Swansea College of art. From I-Dotts wallpaper competition and coming third place, winning the live brief with the fashion brand MONKI, and recently being recognised by head of design at Laura Ashley from our live brief with them.
